MAJOR HONOUR: Premier League Riders' Champion: 2009.

ADDITIONAL INFO: Aside from the club honours listed, Ashworth also helped Poole to win the British League Cup in 2003, appearing in both legs of the final as a guest.

He later filled a ‘doubling-up' role alongside Edward Kennett with the Pirates in 2005, having shared a similar role with Andrew Appleton at Peterborough the season before; these being the only times he has dipped his toes officially in the Elite League, having been based with Sheffield for his entire career.

On 27 September 2009, he used his substantial knowledge of the Owlerton circuit to great effect by taking victory in the Premier League Riders' Championship, as he scooped his first major individual honour.

In November, the Tigers named Ashworth as a member of their starting line-up for 2010, as he continued his long association with the club.
